Sheffield suffers from ConDem cuts

What is a P.S.B.R, an R.G.F. how does Quantitative easing actually work?

You know what, most people I speak to don’t know or care, what they do care about is that their income is dropping, while the price of everything is going up,
Last week I spoke to a family in Walkley they live in social housing with their two children who go to the local primary school. When they married 10 years ago they both had full time jobs and the mortgage and council tax were manageable.

In the last two years Smar had gone back to full time work but is now only working 16 hours a week, Imran was working full time but now due to cut back in the manufacturing plant he works at he’s now only part time.

In the mean time food prices have gone up, heating and electric costs have gone up but their income has gone down.

Money is so tight most mornings neither Imran nor Samar can afford to eat breakfast and some mornings just before payday there is no food for the children’s breakfast. One week a month the family get a food parcel from the local food bank, they also rely on hand outs of food from family and friends.

In Sheffield in 2012 children are going to school hungry while this Government gives tax breaks to millionaires including the Prime Minister.

People like Imran and Samar know that we cannot carry on with a country where the gap between rich and poor just grows wider and wider.

They know this Government has led the country from a recovery into the longest double dip recession since the war.

They know there are more people looking for work for longer than at any time since the last time there was a Conservative government.

They know that this Government said cutting borrowing was a number one priority, but borrowing is rising not falling.

They don’t understand how this Government is giving tax breaks to millionaires while public services are being slashed.

But they do think they haven’t seen a more incompetent, hopeless, out of touch, u-turning, pledge-breaking, make it up as you go along, back of the envelope, miserable shower than this Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Government?
