Everything wrong about the ConDems

While I’m in an emolument mood I thought I would list the achievements of the LibDem supported Tory Government, I have here the list (blank paper)

What I do have is a list of the failures of Nick Clegg and David  Cameron.

1. Prices have risen faster than wages in 38 out of 39 months while David Cameron has been Prime Minister.

2. Wages are down by almost £1,500 a year on average since the General Election.

3. This is the slowest recovery for 100 years.  Since autumn 2010, our economy has grown by just 1.7 per cent compared to the 6.9 per cent expected at the time.

4. The UK is currently 3.3 per cent below its pre-crisis peak, while the USA is 4.6 per cent above its pre-crisis peak.

5. David Cameron and George Osborne are now set to borrow £245 billion more than they planned in 2010 and the independent Office for Budget Responsibility has said that deficit reduction has “stalled”.

6. Almost a million young people are unemployed.

7. Two thirds of people hit by the Bedroom Tax are disabled.  David Cameron says the Bedroom Tax is supposed to tackle under-occupation in housing – but 96 per cent of those affected have nowhere smaller to move to.

8. David Cameron’s flagship policy Universal Credit is mired in chaos and delay with at least £34 million already written off.

9. The number of children living in absolute poverty has risen by 300,000 under David Cameron and Nick Clegg.

10.Almost 350,000 people relied on food banks in 2012-13 (it was 41,000 in 2009-10).  Cameron says food banks show the Big Society is working, whilst Michael Gove blamed families who use food banks for their bad decisions in managing their finances.

When Cameron and Clegg talk about the global race they mean a race to the bottom, the lowest wages, the poorest jobs and the least rights at work.

In Sheffield 43% of Social Fund loans have been made to pay gas and electric via pre paid meters. This is why we are proposing a freezing of energy bills for people, we on this side of the chamber understand how life is for the ordinary people of this city while the Libdems look down from their ivory towers in their favoured areas.

Free school meals for years one to three why? Why not put more money into the provision of school meals for all? As Fiona Tycross of the London Assembly said children don’t stop being hungry or poor aged 8.

And meanwhile the LibDems are arm wrestled into supporting a hand out of £3.85 to a few married people as usual with the ConDems the devil is in the detail, David Cameron’s so-called marriage tax break won’t even help two-thirds of married couples, let alone millions of people who are separated, widowed or divorced.

And even for the minority who might benefit, it will be far outweighed by what the Con Dem Government has already taken away in higher VAT and cuts to child benefit and tax credits. In most cases, the extra payment will be paid to men, even though it is women who have disproportionately lost out so far.

You are a disgrace as a political movement, sold out and sold down the river by your Tory masters, every time you think you’ve got a popular policy it turns out the Tories have had your Paddy Pants Down. You are just Tories in Yellow Jackets
