Withdraw before its too late Mr Clegg

When Cameron and Clegg came into power they both talked abou 'the big society' about how important it was to involve people in the decisions made about  their lives and how they are governed.

Where is this happening? I see no sign of it. We have a Government who seem to think it's their role to interfere in every aspect of our lives.

Eric Pickles  seem to think it's his role to bring Cameron the severed head of local democracy on a silver salver by killing it by a thousand cuts.

In December 2012 he was quoted as saying Councils should 'focus on cutting waste and making sensible savings to protect front-line services and keep council tax down'

Recently his own department was fined for have an unauthorized overdraft of 217M. The LibDem leader of Sheffield Council says don't let Labour get their hands on the purse strings but a member of the Government his party is a member of and of which he supports cant be trusted with finance.

Eric Pickles says that local people should be able to hold politicians and public bodies to account over how their hard earned cash is being spent and decisions made on their account. Well perhaps he should start by explaining to the public how a department he controls managed to run up such a huge debt. Also he might like to explain the findings of the Information Commissioner who ruled that his department tried to hid and spin statistics. This behavior seems rife in the Government when even Grant Shapps the Tory chairman told aids to supress emails that showed he mislead MP's.

The LibDems talk about cuts, but they don't mention growth, what we need is a Government dedicated to growing the economy strongly. A healthy growing economy strong in manufacturing give the Chancellor a higher tax take, it increases the living conditions the working person.  Instead we have minimal growth, a sick economy limping along the bottom and a Government determined to let millionaires off tax while cutting the income of those most in need.

To quote the wife of a local LibDem Councillor Sue Auckland ' it was a mistake to form a coalition with the Conservative Party' Well if that's what LibDems in Sheffield think why not say it to your local MP and do the Country a favor and  withdraw?
