Moving the Goal posts on Child poverty

New figures this week showed the Labour Government took over a million children out of poverty – a record we can be proud of.

But the Tory-led Government looks set to reverse much of this progress through its unfair economic policies, including cuts to tax credits and childcare support which are making many families better off on benefits than in work.

It’s no wonder the Tories are trying to move the goalposts with Iain Duncan Smith this week announcing plans to change the way child poverty is measured – contradicting a clear promise David Cameron made before the General Election.

Children right across the country deserve better than this out of touch Government.
